The brief
Perthshire Zoo is a registered Scottish charity that runs the zoo at Auchingarrich, near Crieff. It had been trading as Auchingarrich Wildlife Park and has taken a new name, so visitors and search engines needed to follow the change.
The aim was a site that makes a day out easy to plan: opening times and booking close to hand on every page, the animals and the conservation work explained, and clear ways to give or support the zoo.
What the site does
A page for each part of a visit
Visitors can find a page for each part of a visit: visiting, the animals, conservation, support and giving, what's on, news, jobs and contact, plus the legal pages.
Opening times and Book now on every page
Visitors see today's opening hours in the top bar, with Donate and Book now buttons in the header of each page.
Booking that hands over to the zoo's own forms
Visitors can book from the Visit page, and the buttons take them to the zoo's existing online forms for admission, annual passes, camping, groups and proposal packages. Payment is taken on those forms, not on this site.
Send the zoo an enquiry
Visitors can send a message from the contact page and choose what it is about.
Find out why the zoo changed its name
The About page answers “What happened to Auchingarrich Wildlife Park?” The new name is used throughout, and the old name is still mentioned in the information about the site that Google reads.
Also in place: A privacy notice and a cookie banner with Reject and Accept, a list of pages for Google to read, and checks before each release for phone readability, image sharpness and security settings.

Measured results
We tested the live home page on 21 October 2026 with Google’s own speed and quality checks, on a phone with a slow connection. We have no measurements of the old site, so these figures stand alone.
- 99/100Speed on a phoneVisitors planning a trip on a phone are not kept waiting, even on a slow connection.
- 100/100Easy to use for everyone, on a phoneEveryone planning a visit on a phone can read and use the home page.
- 2.0 secondsTime before the page is useful on a phoneSomeone on a slow phone connection can start using the home page in about 2 seconds.
These scores are for the home page only. It carries large videos, which use a lot of data on a phone, and other pages were slower to open in our test.
