The brief
PPS Security provides security guards, mobile patrols, keyholding, alarm response and event security from Dundee. Its old website looked professional but had gaps that matter most to a security company: the administrator login was easy to find, there was no privacy policy, and the phone number could not be tapped to call.
The aim was a site that keeps the company's navy and amber look, puts a call button in front of anyone who needs cover quickly, and saves every enquiry before it is emailed to the team.
What the site does
A page for every service and area
Visitors can go straight to the page for the service or area they need: ten services and four areas (Dundee, Perth, Angus and Fife). About, Careers, Training, Procurement, a quotation guide, three articles, contact and privacy have pages too. Addresses from the old website lead to the right new page.
Call with one tap
Visitors can start a call with one tap. The phone number sits in the top bar on a computer and in a Call PPS bar along the bottom of a phone.
A quote form that saves every enquiry
Visitors can ask for a quote through a form. Every enquiry is saved before the email is sent, and the email is tried again if it fails. Spam is filtered out. Emailed enquiries are deleted after 12 months, and the privacy notice says so.
Browse without a login page to attack
Visitors use a site with no public administrator login, which the old website had, and no add-on software to keep up to date.
Also in place: A full privacy notice, cookie choices for visitors, the standard browser safety protections, and no testimonials, ratings or logos the client did not supply.
