Software and systems

Xero integration for the systems you already use.

If someone copies sales, invoices or payments into Xero by hand, there is usually a way to stop. Sometimes an app does it. When it does not, we build a connector.

Signs Xero needs joining up

What you get

How it works

  1. A short paid review

We look at your Xero setup, the systems around it and any apps you already use, and tell you whether an app will do or a connector is worth building.

  2. A fixed price for the build

You get the scope and a fixed price in writing. If you go ahead, what you paid for the review counts towards it.

  3. Built in stages, tested first

We test against Xero's demo company, then run it beside your usual process until the figures match.

  4. Support afterwards

We host it, watch it and update it when something changes, with an agreed amount of small changes each month.

Systems we have joined up

We have not published a Xero connector case study yet. The closest real work is below: one system driving another on its own, and card payments taken inside software we built.

Common Xero connections

Using something else? Most systems that let other software read and write their data can be joined to Xero. Ask, and the review tells you.

Questions

What software integrates with Xero?

A great many products: payment providers, shops, CRMs, payroll and more, listed in the Xero App Store. When the one you use is not there, or the app does not do enough, a connector can be built on Xero's API.

Should I use an app or have a connector built?

Try the app first if one exists for your system. A built connector makes sense when you have your own rules, more than two systems, a case the app does not handle, or you need to be told when it fails.

How can I connect Xero to Excel?

Xero exports its reports to Excel. If you need the figures refreshed without exporting by hand, we can pull them from Xero into a spreadsheet or a dashboard.

Does HMRC recognise Xero?

Yes, Xero is recognised by HMRC for Making Tax Digital. A connector only feeds Xero; your returns are still filed from Xero as they are now.

How much does a Xero integration cost?

It depends on the systems, the volume and your rules. We quote a fixed price in writing after the review. Depending on how the connection is made, Xero may charge for access to its API, and the review tells you if so.

Will our accountant still work the same way?

Yes. Nothing changes in how your accountant uses Xero. We agree the account codes and tax rates with them before anything goes live.

Typing things into Xero by hand?

Tell us what you need. We reply by the next working day with a fixed price in writing.
