A Shopify Xero integration that keeps your books in step.
Every Shopify sale needs to land in Xero with the right VAT, the fees taken off and the payout matched. When an app cannot follow your rules, we build one that does.

When the shop and the books disagree
- Shopify payouts do not match the sales in Xero, and month end takes days.
- Fees, refunds, discounts and shipping are lumped together or missing.
- You sell through Shopify and somewhere else, and Xero only sees part of it.
- Stock is counted in Shopify and in Xero, and the two never agree.
- The app syncs sales, but not coded the way your accountant needs.
What you get
Orders into Xero
Each order, or a daily summary, with VAT, discounts and shipping coded the way your accountant asks.
Payouts that reconcile
Each payout broken into sales, fees and refunds, so it matches the bank line.
Stock kept in step
If you track stock in Xero too, one system holds the true count and the other is updated from it.
Told when it fails
An order Xero rejects is logged and flagged, not lost.
How it works
A short paid review
We look at your shop, your sales channels, how Xero is set up and what your accountant needs, and tell you whether an app will do.
A fixed price for the build
You get the scope and a fixed price in writing. If you go ahead, what you paid for the review counts towards it.
Built in stages, tested first
We test against Xero's demo company, then run it beside your usual process until the payouts match.
Support afterwards
We host it, watch it and update it when Shopify or Xero change, with an agreed amount of small changes each month.
Closest work we have built
We have not published a Shopify or Xero connector yet. The closest real work: systems and websites where customers pay online, and one system that drives another on its own.
- AppClass booking systemClasses and passes sold online and paid for by card, with takings shown to staff.
- WebsiteElevate Veterinary PhysiotherapyA website where clients book and pay for an online gait analysis.
- AutomationChurch of ScotlandA booking calendar that drives a hall's heating, and checks itself through the day.
An app, or a connector built for you?
Start with an app. The Xero App Store and the Shopify App Store both list ready-made connections between the two, and for one shop with standard VAT, one of those is often enough. A built connector is the better choice when:
- Your accountant wants sales coded in a way the app cannot follow.
- Shopify is one of several sales channels or systems feeding Xero.
- The app does not handle your case: several shops, several currencies, trade orders or stock held in Xero.
- You need it watched, and someone told when an order does not arrive.
If an app will do the job, the review says so, and you are not asked to buy a build.
Questions
What apps connect Shopify to Xero?
Both the Xero App Store and the Shopify App Store list Shopify and Xero connections. Try one of those first. We build a connector when they cannot follow your rules.
Does Shopify connect to Xero on its own?
Not without adding something. You install an app, or have a connector built, and it sends your sales and payouts across.
How do I give my accountant access to Shopify?
Shopify lets you add a staff account for your accountant with only the permissions they need. Most accountants work from Xero instead, which is why the sales need to arrive there correctly.
Can it keep stock in step between Shopify and Xero?
Yes, if you track stock in both. We agree which one holds the true count, and the connector updates the other from it.
How much does a Shopify Xero integration cost?
It depends on your order volume, how many channels you sell through and your accountant's rules. We quote a fixed price in writing after a short review.
Shopify and Xero not agreeing?
Tell us what you need. We reply by the next working day with a fixed price in writing.
