Website rescue and care

WordPress support for a site someone else built.

Your WordPress site was built by someone who has moved on, and nobody is updating it. We take it on as it is, with updates, backups, security checks and small fixes, every month.

When a WordPress site needs someone

If the site is down or hacked right now, start with our rescue pages. We fix it first, then look after it.

What the care covers

What happens when you get in touch

  1. You call or send the form

Tell us the web address and what worries you about it. No login needed yet.

  2. We look from the outside

We check what the site runs on, how out of date it looks and what visitors see, then send a fixed price in writing.

  3. We take it on

You give us access. We take a full backup, bring everything up to date and deal with anything urgent first.

  4. We keep looking after it

Updates, backups, checks and small changes every month, with a short report.

Sites we look after

We have not published a care job on a site someone else built. These are sites we built and look after, with the same checks.

WordPress support or website maintenance?

This page is about keeping the WordPress site you already have. Our website maintenance is different: it is the care that comes with our own website package, for sites we build and host. If your WordPress site is old, slow or keeps breaking, rebuilding it as part of the package can be simpler than patching it. When we look at the site, we tell you which makes more sense.

Questions

Is WordPress still worth it?

For many small business sites, yes, as long as someone keeps it updated. It becomes a problem when it is left alone with old plugins. If yours has reached that point, we tell you whether care or a rebuild makes more sense.

Why am I getting a WordPress error?

Most errors follow an update: a plugin or theme that no longer works with a newer WordPress or PHP version, a full disk, or a lost database connection. The message usually points to the cause. Send us the address and what it says.

How do I contact WordPress for support?

WordPress itself is free software with no helpline for site owners. Help comes from your host, for the server, or from a developer, for the site. We are the second kind.

Can you support a site you did not build?

Yes, that is what this care is for. We take a backup, look at how it was built, and tell you about anything risky before we take it on.

How much does WordPress maintenance cost?

It depends on the size of the site, how many plugins it runs and how out of date it is. We look first and quote a fixed price in writing.

Do I have to move host?

No. We can look after the site where it is now. If the hosting is part of the problem, we say so and quote for a move.
